Mazda 3 Manual Transmission Fluid Change Interval

Mazda vehicles equipped with skyactiv technology do not require transmission fluid changes as they have a lifetime transmission fluid that should last throughout the ownership of the vehicle. I would check your manual it probably has the fluid change intervals on it. I took my car in for an oil change this past monday and the dealer told me that my transmission fluid was about due for a change.

Im wondering what the interval for the change is since it doesnt state in the owners manual.

For manual transmissions you can probably go 50 60k intervals between changes instead of 30k and be sure to use a gl4 not gl5 synthetic fluid.
Also the quote from the dealer is 175 for the change.

Just got back from the dealer and they recommended a manual transmission fluid change at 30k im just over 25.

This includes regular and sintetic oils.
If your drain total fluid is 3 to 3 12 quarts that is indicative of 30 to 35k interval on your tranny fluid if you have 5 to 6 quarts drain total of fluid then 45 to 50k intervals is the norm also transmition filter should be changed every 100k.

The only time transmission fluid would need to be changed is when a major component or entire transmission needs to be replaced.
The service manual gives no recommended interval change on this fluid but i talked to a service rep and he felt that 60k miles is a good time to do it.
I dont think i have heard of anyone changing it for pm yet.
Red line mt90 is an approved fluid for manual transmissions.

I was using red line full synthetic oil mt 90.
Some one else may have the numbers and could chime in but i dont have time to look it up right now.
